Poster for the “Triple Threat” tour Birmingham date featuring Gay For Johnny Depp, Blakfish, and Outcry Collective.

I spent a lot of time researching ways “Triple Threat” could be incorporated when I landed on the idea of a “lucha libre” style wrestling poster. I thought this idea would make a pretty fun poster.

Full version of the poster (prints available soon). I wanted the 3 bands to have 3 lucha libre “identities” so it would look more like a realstic wrestling poster. I didn’t want to use an obvious Johnny Depp reference so I tried to make their guy resemble JD in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Another poster / flyer design for the guys at Bigger Than Barry, this time for their massive Halloween night at the Rainbow Warehouse in Birmingham.

I created a new “horror” logo for the event and used a pretty nice halftone effect to give it an extra ‘edge’

The illustrator for the flyer was done by Ben Williams (desh1.com), and it’s come out really good. I added some texture to give it a dirty horror film feel to the image.

Some detail for the “Fatboys Frightna” logo – I went with a white halftone on the logo as a bit of an experiment and because the back was looking pretty dark already. Added some slight gradients to the text as well to make it stand out a bit more.

The back of the flyer, I wanted this to be in keeping with the B-movie horror film feel that I wanted the flyer to convey. I looked at a lot of old horror film posters to get an idea of the text that was used, along with colour schemes.

The “Naked Lunch” sticker – I wanted to make this look like it had been a last minute addition (even though it wasn’t!) as some of the old film posters had similar imagery.

As part of the pre-order for “Champions” by Blakfish, I was asked to design a limited edition t-shirt that would only be available for people who pre-ordered the album direct from Hassle Records.

The design was asked to focus around “Champions” so I went with medals, I also tried to keep it in the same vibe as the album colour by using a gold / yellow print.
