Another poster / flyer design for the guys at Bigger Than Barry, this time for their massive Halloween night at the Rainbow Warehouse in Birmingham.
I created a new “horror” logo for the event and used a pretty nice halftone effect to give it an extra ‘edge’
The illustrator for the flyer was done by Ben Williams (desh1.com), and it’s come out really good. I added some texture to give it a dirty horror film feel to the image.
Some detail for the “Fatboys Frightna” logo – I went with a white halftone on the logo as a bit of an experiment and because the back was looking pretty dark already. Added some slight gradients to the text as well to make it stand out a bit more.
The back of the flyer, I wanted this to be in keeping with the B-movie horror film feel that I wanted the flyer to convey. I looked at a lot of old horror film posters to get an idea of the text that was used, along with colour schemes.
The “Naked Lunch” sticker – I wanted to make this look like it had been a last minute addition (even though it wasn’t!) as some of the old film posters had similar imagery.
